Steel is one of the world’s most important metals. It can
be found everywhere in our lives, from the grandest
infrastructure projects to the contents of your kitchen
cupboards. It is strong, durable, and infinitely recyclable
without loss of any of its inherent properties. It has enabled
our modern way of life and will be the foundation of our
future.
Some of the most important work that we do at the World
Steel Association (worldsteel) is collect data directly from
the steel producers across the globe that comprise our
membership, making our data and publications trusted
sources on our indispensable material.
World Steel in Figures compiles much of this to give you
an overview of the most recent dynamics of the industry
covering data on the top steel-producing companies and
countries, demand, production processes, and trade. It also
includes the latest data from our sustainability indicators
and so covers CO2 emissions, safety and health, and
education and training across the industry.
